This area has a reputation for the quality of its' fishing, particularly for bream, roach, pike, rudd and zander. Gudgeon, chub, perch and carp are also found.The national angling championships are often held in the fens, the waters providing the best of angling conditions. Environment Agency rod licences are required to fish the waters, obtainable from the Environment Agency Tel.01733 371811, or from post offices. In addition a local permit may be required to fish a particular stretch of water. These are available from local fishing tackle shops.
